Age: 4 Years
Price: $13.00 750ml

Notes:
Distilled in copper pot stills then aged in oak casks and bottled at 4 years of age. This rum is part of a series, the others being the Diplomatico Reserva and Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva.

Appearance: Luscious translucent light copper gold color clear with no hazing separation or floating sediments. Long legs develop on swirling.

First Impression: Slightly heavy, sweetish, caramelized molasses, spicy but drying nose, lean.

Taste: Spicy, medium bodied, touch of sulfur. Nutty, spicy, finish. A bit on the light side, but decent, especially for the money.

Drinks: Damn nice mixing rum and cheap enough to use and not worry about wasting it. Complex for its age and spicy enough to stand up to other ingredients.

Cigars: Any decent cigar will do - like a La Gloria Cubana or Hoyo de Monterrey.

Final Thoughts: A very nice rum for the money. Our choice for use as a casual mixer. Well made and well worth the money. Usually any rum under $15 is scary and tastes like fuel oil. This on the other hand is excellent for the money.

Bottle/Packaging: Bell shaped clear glass with pseudo parchment paper label and black neck wrap. Not much to look at, but shows the color and clarity of the rum nicely.

Alas, English version does not work. If you can read Spanish, it is quick loading, and somewhat informative. Easy-to-read and navigate.
