Pierre Ferrand Château de Bonbonnet, Ars, France
Importer: W.J. Deutsch & Sons LTD, New York, New York
INGREDIANT: Peaches
PROOF: 36 (18% )
AGE: Not Applicable
TYPE: Liqueur
PRICE: $15.00 375 ML
Notes: This liqueur is one of a series from Pierre Ferrand, the others include a raspberry, pear and a coffee. Pierre Ferrand also produces Citadelle Gin and Citadel Reserve Gin along with their extensive line of cognac.
Appearance: Clear bright, color is quite close to that of the flesh of a ripe peach , on swirling, it leaves a thick clear coat on the inside of the glass and shows some legs. Well blended - the essential oils do not separate from the alcohol base- a difficult trick to accomplish.
First Impression: Intense almost palpable bouquet of ripe peaches with hints of citrus and vanilla.
Taste: Luscious, oily almost sensuous entry flows across the tongue with a wave of peach sweetness. The body is viscous as it slides down the throat, some warmth at the back of the throat with a wonderful lingering finish.
Drinks: A great liqueur to consider when looking for a alternative for Grand Marnier, Cointreau or Curacao to put a twist on a classic drink or to create an entirely new one. Not to mention using it on ice cream or other desserts and cooking
Final Thoughts: A excellent and affordable liqueur.
Bottle: Thin cylindrical clear glass with attractive but simple artwork on paper labels. Peach orange neckwrap and screwtop.
